San Francisco Foghorn

The San Francisco Foghorn is the official student newspaper of the University of San Francisco. The Foghorn was founded in 1903 and is one of the oldest university newspapers on the West Coast. The Foghorn continues to run weekly and has a 5,000+ readership. In May 2014, I—along with Cat Bagg, worked to redesign the newspaper, retiring the previous 30+ year old design and introducing a more contemporary, reader-focused publication. To allow the Foghorn staff to remain autonomous, we provided the team with thorough documentation of the Foghorn design system, limiting their need for extensive design resources.
